Travelling is interesting. New discoveries, impressions and acquaintances, good rest and a lot of pleasant little things – all this makes a vacation bright and full. The smoother and smoother the trip, the more enjoyable you can get from the trip, and longer will remain a good mood after its completion.
The long wait for departure, protracted check-in procedures at the airport, and the flight itself is quite tedious, so it can spoil the mood of the tourist and worsen the impression even of the most welcome journey.
How to make the flight comfortable? We have prepared for you five simple but effective tips for travelers that will help make your air travel much more pleasant than it could be.
The best time to fly
While many people think it makes more sense to hit the road in the evening so that they can head out in the afternoon or even as early as the morning to enjoy vacations and local attractions, we’ll try to disprove that statement. First, flight delays are slightly less likely in the morning than in the evening, and second, there is less turbulence in the morning, making the flight more comfortable for airheads. So, if it makes a difference to you, try reconsidering your departure time for your trip.
Special menus on the plane
Want more delicious food on board the plane? Try choosing special menus over the usual ones – kosher, halal, vegetarian, or any of the others offered by your airline. Trust me, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise – these meals will be much more varied and tasty than the standard edible set of regular in-flight meals.
Choosing drinks on board
Let’s not repeat once again the recommendations of doctors, persuading about the dangers of alcoholic beverages, strong coffee and tea during the flight, and talk about hygiene. Did you know that numerous tests on the water used in airplanes to prepare hot drinks for passengers often show the presence of pathogenic bacteria? The saddest part is that Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli and other unpleasant “friends” have been found in samples from a wide variety of airlines. Therefore we suggest that you do not take the risk, and give preference to products that have passed rigorous factory temperature treatment – bottled water, drinks and juices in this case will be much safer, especially for young passengers.
The dirtiest place on the plane
Continuing the topic of hygiene, let’s talk about the dirtiest and, accordingly, the most dangerous places for health in the cabin, so get ready to experience a little culture shock. Pockets on the backs of passenger seats and reclining tables – it would seem that they, as the most popular items during the flight, should always be fully ready for use by passengers, that is clean and safe, but alas, this is not the case.
Most passengers put a variety of garbage in their pockets during a flight, plus dust, crumbs and small debris constantly accumulate on the bottom of them, and the recliner in general is such a versatile thing that it’s even too much. Did you know that they are quite often used by passengers with young children as changing tables? So we urge you to bring a pack of moist antibacterial wipes on board, and before you put your sandwich past the tray on the recliner, think of the diapers that may have been lying right there recently. Excuse me.
How to stay warm on an airplane?
Did you know that the air temperature is not the same in different parts of the airplane cabin? During the flight the weather outside the plane is very cold (up to -60 -65C), therefore the fuselage gets cold, too, which you can feel on the seats near the windows. Of course, the temperature difference is not enormous, but it can cause some inconvenience to the passengers who have decided to admire the picturesque views from the window during the flight. This is especially felt in the summer when the clothes are as light as possible and almost unable to warm its owner. So if you want to fly near a window, be sure to choose something warmer for the flight than a T-shirt and shorts, and you can enjoy not only the scenery with clouds, but also comfort.
