No decent vacation is complete without an epic swimming pool you can soak in to unwind. And when it comes to incredible pools, the infinity pool is about as cool as it gets. Infinity pools aren’t as unique as they used to be though, with more and more popping up at resorts across the world. The good news is that there are still some pretty remarkable infinity pools out there that are more than capable of satisfying the need for some serious adventure. Take, for instance, the pool on the 50th floor of Dubai’s Palm Tower. It just so happens to be one of the tallest infinity pools in the world.
The pool is only one bullet point on a long list of high-reaching amenities being offered by the new hotel. The hotel is actually 52 total stories high, with the pool on the 50th deck. Above the pool is a restaurant, and above that is a viewing deck offering panoramic views of Dubai. In addition to the views, guests will also be able to visit a museum on the upper-most floor that will highlight how the skyscraper was built.
At 700 feet above the ground, the infinity pool at the Palm Tower is one of the highest in the world. As you might imagine, with that comes some of the best views in the world, as well. But building a pool that high wasn’t easy. The height of the building, combined with some pretty intense winds blowing in from the Persian Gulf, meant that the construction team had their work cut out for them while building.
The pool is finished, but the rest of the hotel still has some work to go. The final construction on the hotel is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The 700-foot infinity pool at the Palm Tower is impressive, but it’s not the world’s tallest. If you’re hoping to check that particular accomplishment off your travel bucket list, you’ll need to head to the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong. At 1,600 feet, the pool is on the 118th floor and it’s the tallest in the world.
