Heading To A Beach Getaway? Make Sure You Pack These Items.

Any vacation is a great break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but a beach getaway is at the top of the list of great vacations. Make sure you’re prepared for your next beach trip by making sure you pack these must-have items in your luggage.

A Bathing Suit

Look, if you’re heading to the beach, you’re going to need a bathing suit, right?  So, make sure you pack a good one. Something else to keep in mind is just how strong the UV rays are at your destination. Sunscreen should be a must, but if you’re going to be spending a lot of time in the water, consider throwing a UV rated shirt in your bag, too.

Sunscreen

Speaking of sun protection, good sunblock is an absolute must when you’re packing for a beach getaway. If you’re going to be spending time in the water, get something as waterproof as you can. However, you should also opt for something with ingredients that are not harmful to marine life. That means avoiding products that contain oxybenzone. The good news is that there are plenty of animal-safe sunscreens being released every day.

Shoes

When it comes to footwear for a beach vacation, flip-flops are the only way to go. There are countless options for you to choose from. However, if you’re going to be spending time in the water and the ocean bottom is rocky or full of sharp coral, consider a good pair of water shoes to protect your feet.

Sunglasses

Good shades are another obvious item to pack for the beach, but it’s important to know why. It’s not just a style decision. Polarized sunglasses will allow you to protect your eyes and see more in the water. But they’re especially important for lounging on the sand, where 15% of UV rays are reflected back up, increasing the intensity of the rays.

Towels

It’s an obvious decision to bring a towel with you to the beach, but maybe not so obvious to bring more than one. One towel should be used for lounging around on the sand, while a second can be used for drying off after a swim. Since you’ll be packing two, opt for lighter-weight, microfiber options that pack down small.
