Now in its 7th years, MasterCard has recently released its the Global Destination Cities Index (GDCI) for 2016. The index ranks over 132 cities around the world according to the amount of international overnight visitors. Here are the top 10 cities.
10. Seoul – 10.2 Million
Seoul beings the top 10 with 10.2 million international overnight visitors. As the capital of Korea, Seoul’s economy is booming from not only tourism but in-city tech companies. Top attractions in Seoul include Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Myeongdong Shopping Street.
9. Tokyo – 11.7 Million
Tokyo dazzles tourist daily with its mix of traditional culture and new age modernity. The capital of Japan is the world’s most populous metropolitan area. Therefore, it’s no surprise new attractions are being built daily.
