Gift Ideas For The Traveler In Your Life

We’re in the heart of the holiday shopping season, and if you have a frequent traveler in your life you may be looking for some gifts that can enhance their nomadic ways. But how do you know which items your traveler will actually use, and which are the best?  We’ve made it easy on you and compiled a list of some of this season’s top items for travelers.

Daypack

A good backpack or messenger bag capable of carrying all of a traveler’s vital gear is an excellent gift idea. There are plenty of options on the market but there are a few things you should look for in a bag. First off, make sure it’s small enough to qualify as a carry-on bag for airlines but large enough for your traveler to haul all their gear during those all-day explorations through whatever city they happen to be visiting. Another excellent feature to look for in a daypack is a removable laptop case, which makes airline security checks a breeze.

Packing Cubes

This is a tried and true item that’s on any serious traveler’s wish list. You should get cubes in different sizes, making it easy for your traveler to organize small clothing items like socks and underwear, medium items like jackets and larger items like camera gear and souvenirs for the trip home.

Convertible Pants

These hiking pants are a traveler’s dream because you can reduce the number of separate pants and shorts you need to pack. You can stuff the pockets with gear you need to access frequently–passports, keys, cash, etc. Zip the bottoms off during hikes and walks through town to stay cool, and zip the bottoms back on during cool evenings or chilly flights.

Earbud Organizer

While a good set of wireless, over the ear headphones is an excellent choice for travelers, nothing beats the convenience of earbuds. Untangling the little buggers can be a major source of frustration, though. Keep your traveler sane with an expensive Earbud organizer like the one shown above from LOOP.

Audible Subscription

You can only fit so much into a carry-on bag, and while reading material is pretty vital to most frequent fliers, books and magazines can take up a lot of room in a bag. With an audible subscription, you can store as many audiobooks as you want on your phone and listen to them during your flight. You get your reading in and you can block out chatty co-travelers. It’s a win-win.
