For many, the highlight of a great vacation is a unique hotel experience. It’s hard to beat a tropical location and a cozy little bungalow on stilts perched over the water. That is, of course, unless you could get a cozy little bungalow under the water. The folks at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island have done exactly that.
Their newest lodging experience provides a means for guests to stay at an undersea residence and experience everything the deep blue sea has to offer. The lodging is located in the Indian Ocean and is the newest compliment to an already existing and no less impressive attraction, the Ithaa undersea restaurant.
The residence, which has been named “Muraka” after the Maldivian language, blends naturally into the surrounding sea environment to truly give guests an amazingly immersive experience. Ahmed Saleem, the director and head architect of Muraka, had the flowing to say about the new lodging: “Driven by our inspiration to deliver innovative and transformative experiences to our global travelers, the world’s first undersea residence encourages guests to explore the Maldives from an entirely new perspective below the surface of the sea.”
It’s an impressive piece of architecture, too. The lodging is actually two different levels. Level one is above the surface. In addition to a bedroom, you’ll also find a large bathroom, quarters for private security, a living room, bar, kitchen, dining room, and even a butler’s quarters. As impressive as it is, it’s nothing compared to the undersea suite. More than 16 feet below the surface guests will find everything you’d expect from a posh, modern suite. You’ll find a bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom, a living room, and a staircase that connects the upper suite.
You’ll also find an amazing deck where you can view the sunset and relax in a gorgeous infinity pool. Between the two levels, the Muraka suite can accommodate a total of 9 guests.
If all of that sounds too amazing to pass up, you can book a stay today for just $50,000 a night.
Yes, you read that correctly.
For the same price as a new BMW, you can stay in the Muraka suite. Don’t worry if you don’t have the cash on hand right now, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island offers other, more affordable suites, along with a dozen restaurants and bars.
